About:

I have had a love for horses from a very young age, and have been lucky enough to own my horses and grow up learning about these beautiful creatures. My most recent horse is Paddy and I have competed with him at County Show level, in Show-Hunter-Ponies and Veteran Classes and fortunate enough to have had many wins, I also learned to ride side saddle with Paddy.

I decided to make my passion for horses become my career by using my artistic skills, and venturing into Saddlery. I was very lucky to get a four year Millennium/Modern apprenticeship with Laurence Pearman, recognised as one of the top Master Saddlers in the country. During those years, I learned about all aspects of Saddlery, and completed all of my City & Guilds levels (exams) in Saddlery at The Saddlery Training Centre run by Mark Romain.

As part of my four years training, I have been a regular competitor at National Annual Saddlery competitions, held at Saddlers Hall in London and The Festival of leather held at Capel Manor. All my entries were made to the highest standards, and in my own time.

Since qualifying as a Saddler with The Society of Master Saddlers in 2012 I have been fortunate enough to start up Barton Saddlers now a family run business, this has been my dream since I first entered Saddlery.
