About:

John Gosden is a racehorse trainer. He has won over 2,500 races around the world, including nearly 100 Group 1s (Grade 1s). He trains at Clarehaven Stables in Newmarket.

John grew up near Eastbourne, Sussex, south of London. After graduating from Cambridge University, he became an assistant to champion trainer Sir Noel Murless. He then became an assistant to champion trainer Vincent O’Brien. During this time O’Brien was training many of his finest horses of his career, including The Minstrel, Alleged, Be My Guest and Try My Best.

John then moved to California to become assistant to Tommy Doyle and a year later, John began training for himself. John has trained over 2,000 winners in England and Europe and he has won over 40 races at Royal Ascot, including the Prince of Wales’s Stakes and the Golden Jubilee Stakes.
