About:

Ben Case started his career as a successful event and point to point rider, before gaining valuable experience working within the bloodstock industry. He went on to work extensively with both flat and national hunt trainers including 2 years in the USA with Eclipse award winning trainer Shug McGaughey.

On the National Hunt circuit, Ben worked with Oliver Sherwood in Lambourn and Arthur Moore in Ireland. Newmarket flat experience was earned by a short period at Luca Cumani’s yard and more recently, he was Assistant Trainer to Erwan Charpy, based in Dubai, for 5 years. Backed by this sound knowledge of all aspects of racing, Ben took out a full training licence in his own right in 1999, initially operating from a small yard, adjoining historic Edgcote House.

He has now expanded into larger premises at Wardington Gate Farm which have been completely refitted and purpose designed as a racehorse training yard. Ben is assisted by a team of dedicated and friendly staff. With innovative and fresh ideas, each horse receives the very best individual care and attention. Always keen and enthusiastic, Ben has many ambitions waiting to be fulfilled and looks forward to a bright and successful future, training both Flat and National Hunt horses.

Our Stables: 30 spacious and well ventilated custom build Monarch loose boxes constructed in a covered barn. Along with a large tack room, feed room, drying room, vet room, staff changing room, staff room, rug store and racing tack room. All boxes are large and airy and all the horses can see each other or have a window to look out of, making it a relaxed atmosphere for the horses and a great working environment for the staff.

All Weather Gallop: We have a 6 - furlong Euro-track all-weather gallop which has a good up-hill climb. This is an ideal balance for stamina and fast work and has proved to be an excellent surface for the horses to work on all year round.

Grass Gallops: We are fortunate enough to have over 2 miles of well-established grass gallops which have in the past produced such winners as Spanish Steps, Royal Relief and Smart Tar.

Schooling Facilities: We have extensive schooling facilities including poles, tyres, Easifix fences and hurdles including 3 'baby' fences, 2 plain fences, 1 open ditch, and a row of 5 flights of hurdles.

Horse Walker: A 5-horse Claydon covered horse walker, which is invaluable. This is used for warming up before exercise, cooling down after exercise and for horses needing gentle exercise or for a stretch of the legs in the afternoon.

Indoor School: We are lucky enough to have the use of an indoor school where all the horses are warmed up every morning before they go to the gallops. Youngsters are broken-in and lunged in here and this is where they start their jumping education using poles, show jumps and 'baby' hurdles before progressing to the outside schooling ground.

Turn Out Paddocks: 20 acres of new stud fenced paddocks are used to turn out horses on a daily basis enabling us to keep the horses happy and relaxed with plenty of fresh air.
