Newton Hall is an approved British Horse Society (BHS) Training Centre with education and practical training in horsemanship a key part of our activities. We also have a large and well equipped livery yard that houses horses and ponies for full, working and schooling livery. Our main indoor arena (60m x 30m ) plus two large outdoor floodlit arenas, an indoor school, a show jumping paddock and over 40 varied cross-country fences in 70 acres of grassland, makes Newton Hall a major venue for local, regional and national equine competitions. Newton Hall is open 365 days a year and tuition is available 7 days a week, with evening lessons available on weekdays. We have capacity for up to 70 horses in our livery yards and offer a full range of schooling and livery services. Livery owners have use of 2 indoor schools, 2 floodlit outdoor arenas, show jumps, cross-country fences and 170 acres of fields and tracks. We have horsebox / trailer parking available and livery owners can book our 54 ft diameter horse walker as required. Our livery owners also benefit from our facilities by taking part in competitions held on site at Newton Hall Equitation Centre. Schooling Livery: Under the supervision of Petrina Philp the schooling livery yard offers competition riders and training for all disciplines: showing, flat working hunters, showjumping, eventing and point-to-point. We also offer retraining & rehabilitation for racehorses and backing & producing young horses and ponies. Petrina competes regularly at most major national competitions including the Royal International Horse Show, the Horse of the Year Show, British Show Pony Society Shows, Ponies UK shows, the Sport Horse Championships and the Show Hack Cob Championships. Full and Working Livery: Horses in full or working livery are stabled in our main yard in converted farm buildings. Livery owners benefit from our extensive facilities including the indoor arenas which mean that owners can come in and ride or exercise whatever the weather or ground conditions. Working livery horses and ponies are ridden by selected clients under staff supervision, and owners can exercise their horses by appointment when they wish.
