Fiona Webb Bowen Therapist for Humans, Horses and Pets Sports & Rider Coaching.

The Bowen Technique is a very gentle, non-invasive therapy, which helps relax tense muscles and release tightness in joints, reducing pain, discomfort and improving performance. It stimulates the body’s ability to heal and re-adjust itself and can help current or long-standing issues, even where the cause is not known, for both horses and riders.

As a holistic therapy Bowen treats the whole body, not a specific condition. As such it can help with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Uneven, restricted stride pattern
  • intermittent or specific lameness
  • Sore, ‘cold’ backs
  • Uneven muscle development/atrophy
  • stiffness on one rein
  • Saddle slipping sideways
  • shoes wearing unevenly
  • Laminitis
  • Colic
  • Changes in performance or behaviour
  • Hormonal fluctuations in mares (and their owners!)
  • Rider tightness through back, hips, neck, shoulders
  • consistently losing a stirrup
  • impacts from falls.
