About:

What is Shambhala Reiki?

Reiki, the Japanese word for ‘Universal Energy’, is an ancient method of healing. Reiki is a wave of energy that flows through everything. Reiki gently balances, realigns and recharges the body, triggering it’s natural ability to heal. Through time we lost this power of healing - we forgot all about it. That is until a Japanese Buddhist priest named Dr Usui rediscovered Reiki in the 1920s. It took a further 20 years but finally Reiki spread from Japan into the Western world. Shambhala Reiki is described as ‘Power Reiki’, and has a much stronger healing energy than Reiki. Shambhala means place of happiness or peace. It works with a full set of 352 Japanese symbols compared to the 5 symbols used in Reiki. Intuition and instinct are heightened due to a stronger connection with our higher self. Animals are naturally receptive to the Reiki energy and tend to pull towards it. Some may initially prefer to experience the energy from a distance rather than having the practitioner’s hands directly on them.

What are the Benefits of treatment?

With Shambhala Reiki we can help our equines and canines to balance their systems. This holistic, non-invasive technique can heal on all levels: body, mind and soul.

The treatment will:

• Promote relaxation

• Harness healing energy

• Break down blockages in energy flow

• Detoxify

• Improve vitality

• Balance body, mind and soul

What Can Be Treated?

• Illness and injury

• Post-surgery rehabilitation

• Pain, fear, depression or anxiety

• Age related problems such as arthritis, rheumatism and dementia

• Behavioural problems caused by issues such as stress or trauma

• Rescued animals to adjust to their new surroundings

• Older animals, to energize and revitalise

• Change such as moving, introducing or loss of another animal

How Much Treatment is needed?

Shambhala Reiki sessions for animals usually last between 20 and 30 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends on the individual animal. Practitioners have found that Shambhala Reiki is most effective when given through a series of sessions, and for longer lasting results 3 to 6 treatments is advised. However, a one-off session will still have a positive effect and will  help your animal.

Shambhala Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended to replace medical or veterinary care and advice.

About Me

My name is Pauline Smit. I am a Shambhala Reiki master practitioner trained under the Usui System. I became fully qualified in July 2006 after 2 years of intensive training. I have been practicing Shambhala Reiki ever since. I find it extremely helpful with my own animals and with the animals I work with.

I am a qualified veterinary nurse with over 10 years’ experience within small animal practices. I have over 20 years experience working with horses and in recent years have been going through the British Horse Society Stages in horse care and riding.

I have been around animals all of my life, at work and at home. I am the proud owner of two dogs and a cat, and am a keen member of the local flyball team. Offering Shambhala Reiki sessions for your equines and canines is part of my passion to spread the healing energy of Reiki, improving animal well-being and enhancing the lives of our cherished animals.

I am fully insured and CRB/ DBS checked.
