My career background is in teaching, but now my main focus is on sharing and using the above therapies to help animals and their humans with stress relief and general well-being, whilst supporting their healing journey as required. An animal does not have to be ill to benefit from Reiki, however, regular treatments can support the immune system helping the animal to keep happy and healthy.

Reiki can be given to relieve stress, to treat minor ailments, to help relieve pain and accelerate healing following surgery. Though Reiki is not a miracle cure, healing will take place on some level. Many animals enjoy hands-on treatments, other animals find that treatments are much more comfortable from a few feet away or even from across the room or paddock.

Whether given directly hands-on or from a distance, treatments are equally effective. Most importantly treatments should always be adjusted to fit each animal’s preference.

The typical treatment consists of an ebb and flow of hands-on/short distance Reiki as well as short periods of movement and relaxation. Reiki treatments are best given while in the home or stable where the animal lives. Animals are able to relax and receive these treatments much more successfully when they are comfortable and in their own environments.

While Reiki is a powerful healing system on its own, it is also a wonderful complement to other therapies that may be helping the animal recover.
