About:

Based on the family farm near Wymondham in Norfolk, we pride ourselves on treating each horse very much as an individual in order to obtain the best of their ability. I am a small trainer so know each horse inside out and am able to cater for their specific needs. The horses in the yard tend to be happy and relaxed which shows in their wellbeing and the end results.

Having grown up on the family farm, I spent 3 years at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester before becoming hooked on racing. On my return to Norfolk, I had a few rides in point to points before going on to be Assistant Trainer in Newmarket for Neil King and then for Paul Webber near Banbury. I eventually decided it was time to put all my knowledge into practice and trained 10 winners from just 6 horses in my first season - 9 point to points and 1 hunter chase.

Our Facilities: The old dairy at Browick Hall was converted into a stable yard in 2010/11, making 11 good sized, well ventilated boxes, a wash down bay, feed room and tack room as well as storage for haylage and bedding. This work was excellently carried out by Mitchell Building Services of Wymondham. There is plenty of room for expansion! In addition, we have a Claydon horse walker which will take 5 horses, as well as acres of turnout.

I like to turn horses out as often as the weather permits as I believe it is greatly beneficial to both mind and body! We also have a canter track which is a sand surface with rubber chips and is a 3 furlong oval. In the middle of the track is a schooling paddock with logs, tyres, a brush hurdle and 2 fences.

We use The Links schooling grounds in Newmarket for any extra schooling and faster bits of work. The beach at Holkham is excellent if the weather is making things difficult at home or if I feel a particular horse would benefit from doing something different!
