Anabel King Murphy has held her licence since 1982 and currently trains from her yards in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. Her apprenticeship, both as Racehorse Trainer and Jockey, was served with Mr Frenchie Nicholson who was known world wide.
She is married to Aiden Murphy, one of the top Bloodstock Agents in Europe, and who also acts as assistant trainer. Anabel currently holds a combined licence, which enables her to train both Flat and National Hunt horses.
The Jockey Club have strict requirements which must be satisfied before they grant a licence to train, including facilities, a minimum number of horses in training, professional expertise and health and safety. Moor Farm Stables has had runners at most of the Racecourses in the country and had winners at several of the Grade 1 courses.
Anabel has won several prestigious races including the BMW Final at Newbury, 2 Ladies Derbys at Newmarket & the Jump Jockeys Derby at Epsom. She has trained several prolific winning horses both on the flat and over hurdles and steeplechases, including:
- Queensway Boy
- Fairy Prince
- Great View
- Daniel Thomas
- Izita Star, etc.
Based at her home in Stratford-upon-Avon, Anabel owns 2 yards with 50 stables, 2 horse walkers, sand menages and starting stalls. Other facilities include sand gallops of 7 furlongs and 1/2 mile circuit, grass gallops of 4 furlongs and 1 mile circuit plus farm land, woodlands and tracks. A new ¼ mile Martin Collins all weather schooling & cantering ring has just been completed.
