Hockwold Lodge Stud & Livery Yard is a family run business situated on the borders of Norfolk and Suffolk, and surrounded by miles of on and off road hacking through Thetford Forest. Claire Ladell, who runs the stud has many years experience of bringing on horses and ponies from Grade C to Grade A, where, she has jumped on many teams for Great Britain in young riders at the age of 16 all over europe. Our livery includes 10 outside modern bricked stables and 3 indoor stables, all stables have rubber matted floors, automatic drinkers and lights. We can supply Hay, Haylage, Straw and shavings all year round, we also have started feeding Lucerne which is supplied from our local farmer, for those wanting to feed this as an extra. DIY: Includes Stabling, Turnout use of Indoor and Outdoor Arena and all Lights and Water. Full Livery 1: Includes stabling on straw, haylage twice daily available at extra charge, Hard feed twice daily, Seven day muckout, Turnout in own paddock and brought in, Holding for vet and farrier etc, use of Indoor and Outdoor Arena, paddock maintained and poo picked weekly, Rug change as needed. Full Livery 2: Includes stabling on shavings, haylage twice daily available at extra charge, Hard feed twice daily, Seven day muckout, Turnout in own paddock and brought in, Holding for vet and farrier etc, use of Indoor and Outdoor Arena, paddock maintained and poo picked weekly, Rug change as needed. Our stables and yard consists of 11 outdoor brick stables and 3 internal stables. All stables consist of automatic drinkers and rubber matted floor and lights. There is also a large secure tackroom for liverys to share. The yard is very quite and there is a relaxed atmosphere and our staff are always willing to help in any way. We have 3 large internal stables which are approx 15 x 12, these are situated behind our outdoor stables and have rear open and closing windows which look out onto a pond and gardens. Our stallion block includes 9 modern monarch internal stables which are home to our 7 stallions. Customers can come and view the stallions altogether in a relaxed enviroment and discuss there requirements with Claire whilst looking at our stallions. The outdoor menage has had a new rubber surface put down in 2010 and is approx 37m x 50m. We have a selection of showjumps always available to use and the menage will easyily take a course of jumps for those willing to practice courses. Our indoor arena also has a new rubber surface put down in 2010 and we have installed 6 large dressage mirrors. The indoor arena is completely inclosed and is ideal for those winter months or those wanting a bit of privacey when riding. The indoor arena measures approx 60m x 20m and has full lighting. We have on and of road hacking where we are situated and a local river which the horses love to cool off in during the summer months. We also have Thetford Forest which you can hack for miles through, or we have the drove which you can hack down for miles without hardly any traffic.
