Rockwood Equestrian Centre is a family owned livery and training yard providing top-class care and training for horses and riders of all standards and disciplines. We pride ourselves on catering for all needs and abilities, with a wide range of services and excellent facilities to suit your every need.
Our aim is to provide the best care possible for your horse and to make every minute you spend with your horse as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. Whatever your aims for your horse or pony and whatever level you wish to reach, whether it be pleasure riding or high level competition riding then we can help.
General schooling livery and competition training is offered to any standard of horse/pony. We will train your horse/pony to work in a balanced, rhythmical and responsive manner, tailoring each training program to each horse and riders individual requirements and working with owners and riders to achieve their individual goals.
Our methods are patient and sympathetic and we consider how all aspects of your horses life, such as diet and fitness affect training and performance. Even if you just want your horse for hacking it is still essential for safety reasons that he/she is well trained, obedient and responsive. There is nothing worse than riding out on your horse/pony and not feeling totally in control. We appreciate that a large amount of horse owners do not have the time, experience and/or facilities to achieve this. This is where we can help.
Re schooling and retraining of horses who have behavioural issues or who have been incorrectly schooled in the past is also offered. We have huge amounts of experience and success in this field. Whatever problem you are having with your horse/pony then you can be confident that by sending him/her to us, we will be able to correct this for you.
